When I completed 7 days of the Special Operations Force Academy and SEAL Adventure Challenge yesterday, I cried. This week was arguably the longest week of my life and I walked away learning more about myself than I expected. This week also brought me full circle on on a number of significant life events that have been haunting me for the last 13 years.
My final injury tally:
- Ear infection in both ears - no swimming for a while
- Covered in poison oak
- Strained right hamstring
- Extensive chafing on rear end
- Strained left shoulder
- Severe sleep deprivation
- Total body soreness - my fingers hurt when typing this blog entry!
My doctor wrote me up four different prescriptions.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely!
It’s hard for me to describe what I experienced to someone who has not experienced it, but I will try.
Details to follow in subsequent posts.
Cheers,
David Glover AKA “Monkey Butt”

wow. what a week! I hope it was everthing you wanted it to be. I look forward to reading about it in detail. Guess I should chip in for the hernia operation. Here’s to forgetting the pain and only remembering the good stuff.
