Special Operations Force Academy: Was It Worth It?

When I completed 7 days of the Special Operations Force Academy and SEAL Adventure Challenge yesterday, I cried. This week was arguably the longest week of my life and I walked away learning more about myself than I expected. This week also brought me full circle on on a number of significant life events that have been haunting me for the last 13 years.

My final injury tally:

  • Ear infection in both ears - no swimming for a while
  • Covered in poison oak
  • Strained right hamstring
  • Extensive chafing on rear end
  • Strained left shoulder
  • Severe sleep deprivation
  • Total body soreness - my fingers hurt when typing this blog entry!

My doctor wrote me up four different prescriptions.

Was it worth it?

Absolutely!

It’s hard for me to describe what I experienced to someone who has not experienced it, but I will try.

Details to follow in subsequent posts.

Cheers,

wow. what a week! I hope it was everthing you wanted it to be. I look forward to reading about it in detail. Guess I should chip in for the hernia operation. Here’s to forgetting the pain and only remembering the good stuff.
