My Passion is Triathlon and Other Endurance Events
As an athlete, I have finished 100+ triathlons including 28 Ironman-distance triathlons with their 2.4-mile swims, a 112-mile bikes, and marathon 26.2-mile runs. Not only is Ironman triathlon an event that I love to do, it is also something that inspires and informs the rest of my life.
After an outstanding year in 2007 – where I set personal best times in both the marathon at Disney (2:46) and Ironman-distance at the Quelle Challenge (8:51) then won the Vineman Full overall – the past four years saw me explore different types of events outside of triathlon.
For example, in May 2008, I spent a week training with the Special Operations Force Academy in Virginia Beach and in July I spent a week backpacking in the Swiss Alps. Both experiences taught me an enormous amount about myself – both emotionally and physically.
Other events I’ve done more recently include: Assault on Pike’s Peak, VentureQuest, Mountains of Misery, Rugged Maniac and running up and down Mt Sanitas 5x.
