Author

Author David GloverAs I learned more about how to train and race effectively for Ironman races, I was inspired to share my experiences and general training advice with other people both inside and outside of the endurance sports world.

Whether I'm describing a triathlon experience to a general audience or giving training tips with fellow athletes, I've found writing to be a great way to share my thoughts and emotions with others about what I love to do.

In 2003, I began submitting race reports to xtri.com then contributed to a book titled 50 Great U.S. Marathons and began to blog about my life as an athlete. In 2006 I published my own book with the help of Rainmaker Publishing LLC: Full Time and Sub-Nine: Fitting Iron Distance Training into Everyday Life, which is about how endurance sports have affected and enhanced my entire life, as I transitioned from cancer survivor to triathlon champion.

More recently, I have authored training programs on endurance sports training and racing and contributed the Vineman Triathlon chapter in From Kona to Lake Placid – 50 Great U.S. Triathlons. Currently, I write a regular column called "The Athletes Edge" for TRI-DC Magazine, a print magazine for multi-sport athletes in the mid-Atlantic region.

In the last few Years, I have expanded my interests beyond triathlon to other adventure sports and endurance events – for example, in May 2008, I spent a week training with the Special Operations Force Academy in Virginia Beach and in July I spent a week backpacking in the Swiss Alps. Both experiences taught me an enormous amount about myself – both emotionally and physically. In the future, I am looking forward to finding new challenges including the Death Race in June 2010 that I can experience, write about and share with others.

I also do freelance writing projects. Please contact me for more information.
